In a recent post about an IRS release, I wrote, "The IRS is portraying that it is focusing its enhanced enforcement activities to crack down on 'delinquent millionaires,' 'tax-evading millionaires,' and 'millionaire non-filers.'"[1]
A recent article in Private Wealth confirms that the IRS is targeting millionaires:[2]
IRS commissioner Daniel Werfel has made a crackdown on Malta plans a priority as the agency is committing fresh resources to pursue wealthy people. Itโs also resolved about 175 delinquent tax cases involving millionaires, stepped up work on wealthy non-filers and focused on Americans seeking tax breaks in Puerto Rico.
