Yesterday, I restarted my Outline.
Previously, the Outline was available only to Paid Subscribers, but I'm sharing the new Outline publicly.
There are several reasons for the change:
(1) I'm now publishing the Outline using my new Markdown > GitHub > Ghost workflow, which allows me to update it frequently.
(2) I modified my approach to sharing my research: I'm now publishing many shorter posts that are narrowly focused on a few rules. I'm aggregating these posts in a tag called, "Rules," which bypasses the landing page of the website. Many of these posts will have a publicly-available part and part that is available only to Paid Subscribers. The rationale is that the free portion helps to educate the public and paid portion is geared for professionals who are looking for more insight. My new publishing workflow allows me to update these posts easily to add deeper analysis and insight over time. The Outline will help to organize these and other posts.
(3) The Outline, like the Glossary, is intended as a multi-year project. These resources will get better over time. I'm excited to share my progress and get the support of interested readers.
(4) I enjoy researching and writing because the process allows me to improve my thinking on the law. But my real fulfillment comes from sharing information. I love teaching and learning from others. People closest to me believe that my true calling is to be a teacher. (I think my friends are right, so when my children are older, I will explore teaching opportunities at nearby law schools.)
